1965 Pontiac GTO Resto-Mod

We are proud to offer for sale this resto-mod 1965 Pontiac GTO tribute convertible. It has received a meticulous frame off-rotisserie restoration with great attention to detail. With well over $100k invested in just the restoration alone, this car has been dialed in and driven only 12k miles since completion and is ready for your enjoyment. ENGINE:

GM all Aluminum fuel injected LSX engine from a 2004 Z06 Corvette, CNC GM Z06 Cylinder heads. Factory ZO6 computer was used and tuned. Tuner included.


RADIATOR:

Griffin 4 core, 1.125" tube, high flow aluminum with dual Spal brand fans that run variable speed with GM factory computer


EXHAUST:

Kooks 1-7/8" primary long tube stainless headers with 3" collectors that have been Jet-Hot coated, 3" stainless exhaust pipe and X-pipe that have all been Jet-Hot coated and 3" Dynomax Ultra Flow mufflers. The system includes the wideband air fuel ratio meter.


TRANSMISSION:

New when installed GM T56 with GM Z06 clutch assembly for simple easy smooth clutch disengagement/engagement. Vintage style Hurst Shifter with leather shift boot and chrome retainer ring.


DRIVESHAFT:

3.5" aluminum driveshaft by the Driveshaft Shop 1350 u-joints in front and rear.


REAR DIFFERENTIAL:

Moser 12-bolt forged differential housing, Detroit TruTrac center section with 3:73 gears, hardened 33-splined axles with big Ford end retainers and no C-Clips.


FRAME:

Stock frame that has been stripped to metal and powder coated satin black. The body bushings are GM NOS high durometer rubber.


SUSPENSION:

Full Global West suspension with tubular front upper and lower control arms, Global West upper and lower rear control arms using Delalum bushings for a non-binding suspension, Global West front and rear sway bars, Global West coil springs front and rear, and Bilstein Premium Sport shocks on all four corners.


BRAKES:

BAER Hydro-Boost Braking system with their Serious Street 4-piston calipers, drilled and slotted rotors with aluminum front hub assemblies.


STEERING BOX:

Power Borgensen brand quick ratio factory appearing steering box, with all GM Moog components that include the center-link, tie-rod ends, idler arm, and pitman arm.


FUEL TANK:

Rock Valley factory style galvanized tank with Walbro 255-GPM fuel pump. Fuel lines are new factory type with nylon push lock.


BODY:

Countless hours of labor were spent to make sure that the panels are straight and the gaps are perfect. It is finished in basecoat/clearcoat burgundy metallic and has a mirror like reflection. A gallon of the mixed paint color is included.


TRIM/GLASS:

All new glass with a light smoke tint and hardware was installed. The convertibles have stainless trim moldings, and each piece of trim was highly polished and straightened by SL metals on long island. All the chrome plating for the bumpers, vent window frames, convertible top moldings, etc. was done by Paul’s Chrome. The wheel well moldings are NOS GM that have been highly polished. The taillight bezels and tail center section have been rechromed and refinished. The front grill is original NOS and the headlight bezels and emblems are resto-trim products.


INTERIOR:

New machine turned instrument bezel with Stewart Warner analog gauges, factory radio-delete plate, reconditioned dash pad by Just Dashes, all new wiring harnesses, factory seats recovered and cushioned using PUI products, new PUI carpet and padding, new front door and rear side panels, new correct stye rubber floor mats, new front seat belts, and new interior chrome trim and handles.


CONVERTIBLE TOP:

The original power top frame that has been restored and repainted with SEM brand rally satin black. An ultra-high-end convertible cloth top made by HAARTZ done in black with zip down rear window was added for a more elegant appearance. It does come with a new additional zip-out window for the next owner.


WHEELS/TIRES:

OEM looking steel wheels with polished derby style hubcaps. The wheels are Stockton-Wheel brand 15X6 front and 15X7 rear with custom offset. The tires are Mickey Thompson 26X8.00R15 Sportsman Street radials on the front and Mickey Thompson 235/60R15 ET Street radials on the rear.
